Couple trade David Wilson for David Wilson A Derbyshire couple have been so impressed with the quality of their David Wilson home that they’ve climbed the property ladder by part exchanging it for a brand new one at the housebuilder’s Lace Lock Park development in Borrowash.

Situated on Ballards Way, Lace Lock Park is a superb collection of three-, four- and five- bedroom homes in a pleasant, countryside location. Ideal for those seeking a rustic retreat within easy reaching distance of Derby city centre, Lace Lock Park offers the perfect balance of urban and rural living.

IT Storage Architect Jeremy Smedley and his IT Programme Manager wife Jenny, were living in a four- bedroom detached home at David Wilson’s The Briars development in Swadlincote but location attracted them to Lace Lock Park, and upon visiting they fell in love with the Moorcroft style showhome.

35 year old Jeremy comments “We were looking for somewhere nearer the city so we would be closer to work but we still wanted a countryside location and Lace Lock Park fitted the bill perfectly.”

Jenny, 32, adds “As soon as we saw the showhome we had to have it. The position of the plot is fantastic- there’s an allotment on one side and open countryside on the other, plus the house itself just stood out from the crowd. The rendering on the exterior looks fantastic and even though it’s a new house it has a lot of character.”

Traditional yet flexible, the ground floor of the Moorcroft style boasts a spacious living room to the rear of the property, which acts as the main living area, as well as an open plan kitchen and breakfast room with utility off, a separate dining room, study and cloakroom. The first floor benefits from four bedrooms, the master with en-suite, plus the family bathroom whilst the second floor features a large bedroom with en-suite and an attic room which could be used as a study or gym depending on the purchasers needs.

The couple, who both work for Hewlett-Packard in Derby, took advantage of David Wilson’s part exchange deal which allowed them to trade in their four- bedroom detached home for the showhome.

Jeremy continues “Part exchange was definitely the key reason we decided the move was viable as it would have been very difficult to sell privately during the current economic climate. Plus, part exchange takes a lot of the stresses out of the buying process which meant we could move in relatively hassle free.”

The couple purchased the showhome which came with the light fittings, wall hangings and a landscaped garden plus David Wilson paid half their stamp duty. The couple moved into their new home in December and are settling in well into their second David Wilson home.

Jeremy concludes “We’ve been more than happy with the service we’ve received and the build quality of the house is excellent, as you would expect from a typical David Wilson home. We love our new home and are looking forward to spending many happy years here.”

Philip Lacey, Sales Director for David Wilson comments “Lace Lock Park is a first class development in a sought after rural location but its still within easy reaching distance of Derby city centre which has undoubtedly added to its appeal.

“Ideal for families and those seeking a quality home in a pleasant countryside environment, Lace Lock Park has witnessed fantastic sales success and just eight homes remain unsold at this popular development.

“Buyers at the development can also take advantage of one of our great deals, like part exchange, that helped to seal the deal for Jeremy and Jenny. To find out more, come and speak to our experienced sales negotiator today.”

Situated on Ballards Way in Borrowash, Lace Lock Park offers Derbyshire homehunters a fantastic range of three-, four- and five- bedroom homes. The development benefits from a plethora of local amenities including schools, shops and bars and is within easy reaching distance of the urban retreats of Derby and Nottingham as well as the M1.

Prices at the development start from £199,995.
