A home with a view for Jenna and Andrew

A home with a view for Jenna and Andrew Few first-time buyers move into their dream home with money to spare for furniture and furnishings, but that’s exactly what happened to one young couple, who took advantage of MiWay, Miller Homes East Midlands’ latest home ownership initiative.

When Jenna Redfern and her fiancé Andrew Fletcher started looking for their first home together, they had no idea everything would happen so quickly. Within a month, not only had they found their dream property – a new two-bedroom apartment at Miller Homes’ exclusive Buxton development, Heritage View – but they’d also moved in and were making it feel like home.

Jenna said: “It took about four weeks to sort everything out and get the keys. It was scarily quick, but wonderful at the same time. Every day that month we were out shopping – buying all the things we needed to furnish it.”

As soon as the couple saw the Heritage View development, set in the heart of the Peak District National Park, they were won over. With their hearts set on the property, Jenna and Andrew turned to the important issue of finance.

Jenna explained: “Heritage View is in such a nice area, quiet and peaceful, with gorgeous views – it’s idyllic, as all you can see are sheep and hills.

“When the sales advisor explained MiWay initiative we thought it couldn’t be more perfect. It was obviously meant to be!”

Miller’s MiWay initiative provides the perfect solution for buyers wanting more for their money. Buyers only pay 75 per cent of the purchase price at the time of buying.

The initiative offers to share some of the risk should house prices fall. When the loan term is up, the amount repayable will depend on the open market valuation at that time. Therefore, the remaining 25 per cent – whatever the property’s value.

Jenna added: “The way it is at the moment, you need a huge deposit and we definitely wouldn’t have been able to save that much, but with MiWay we didn’t need a deposit, so we’ve been able to spend the money we’d saved up on furniture.”

Joy Goodman, sales director for Miller Homes East Midlands, said: “Even though moving home can be exciting, many people find the pressures associated with it to be overbearing. This is why we try to make it as easy as possible for buyers of new homes.

“Our MiWay initiative is designed to enhance the customer experience and make homebuying simple and affordable.”

With a selection of three, four and five-bedroomed houses and a number of luxury apartments available for sale, Heritage View has been established as one of Miller Homes’ most sought-after and successful developments to date.

Surrounded by acres of rural countryside, Buxton is popular amongst both holiday makers and outdoor activity lovers alike. The development itself benefits from its close proximity to an excellent network of A roads, linking it to Manchester and Sheffield as well as to the many towns and villages scattered throughout the Peak District National Park.
