David Wilson axes stamp duty on home up to £250k The Chancellor Alistair Darling may have announced that the Stamp Duty holiday on homes worth up to £175,000 will be extended until the end of the year, but David Wilson East Midlands is going even further by offering to scrap the tax on all its homes up to £250,000 for the same period.

This effectively means that the majority of David Wilson homes in the region are exempt from Stamp Duty because the developer could pay it on their buyers’ behalf.

Philip Lacey, David Wilson East Midlands’ Sales Director said: “When people want to move home, Stamp Duty is an additional cost which can sometimes make the difference between being able to afford it or not.

“So it is good news for the housing market that the Government is extending the exemption period on properties worth up to £175,000.

“However, if you decide to buy a new David Wilson home you could effectively pay no Stamp Duty on a home worth up to £250,000, until the end of this year. This is a great incentive for anyone thinking of moving home to save themselves thousands of pounds.”

David Wilson currently has a number of developments on offer throughout Derbyshire including:

Castle Heights, Church Gresley
Castle Heights comprises of a wide selection of one-, two-, three-, four- and five- bedroom houses. Prices start from £79,950.

City Point, Derby
