Showhome offers a flavour of affordable living

Multi-award winning housebuilder, Miller Homes, has unveiled its latest showhome to give potential buyers a glimpse of how they could easily make a new house a home.

And the even better news is that the showhome is on the Highfields Park development in Derby, which has just been granted Homebuy Direct Scheme status, making it even easier than ever before for people to get on to the property ladder.

The scheme has been carefully structured to enable people to take an equity loan of up to 30 per cent of the purchase price which will be co-funded by Miller Homes and the Government.

This means that they will only need to find a mortgage to cover 70 per cent of the purchase price but can still own 100 per cent of the property.

The loan, on which there is no interest to pay for the first five years, is only repayable after 25 years or when the customer sells their home, whichever comes first.

The first stand-out feature of The Auden is the walk-in bay window, with French doors that open onto a secluded garden. Arranged over three storeys, the master bedroom occupies the top floor, providing a private area that includes an en-suite bathroom and a dressing room.

Another feature that is proving highly popular is the spacious kitchen/diner that would make a fantastic social area for budding chefs or a social butterfly.

The three-bedroomed showhome, which also has a study on the first floor, has been decorated in warm tones of terracotta creams and beige, offering a glimpse of how a home could look.
