Hilton homebuyers win a trip to New York

But thanks to a competition the couple entered in the development’s Sales Centre when they reserved their home, they’re looking forward to jetting off to The Big Apple later this year!
Ben (21) and Claire (22) had looked around many properties in the Derby area before visiting Oakhampton at Hilton – and when they did they found a place that was ‘head and shoulders’ above the other homes they had seen.
“We chose a three-bedroom, three-storey ‘Jarvis’ townhouse,” explains Ben, a sales consultant for Network Telecom in the Nottingham area.
“The location was just right for us – close to Derby but not in the centre, and very handy for Etwall, where Claire works as a dental nurse – and nothing else we had seen compared to the house.
“It’s a lot more spacious than we had expected, with a large bedroom with en-suite on the top floor, two similar-sized bedrooms on the first floor which we will use as a study and a guest bedroom, and the kitchen, the lounge/dining room and a cloakroom on the ground floor.”
The couple received free carpets and flooring and a fitted kitchen, which has saved them the expense of replacing old, or installing new.
George Wimpey also provided the couple with an interest-free 10-year loan as a substantial deposit, meaning they could own their home with a mortgage for just 85% of the full price.
“It’s ideal for us,” adds Ben. “They made the purchasing process very easy and because property prices should certainly rise over the next 10 years, although we can save to pay back the loan, we should hopefully be able to cover the cost simply through remortgaging if we need to.
“Now we have moved in we are looking forward to enjoying our free trip to New York too – Claire had said she had always wanted to go there, so winning the competition was something of a miracle really!”
Homes at Oakhampton have sold extremely well since the start of the year – and with prices starting from just £88,000 for a one-bedroom apartment, and £155,995 for the three-bedroom ‘Jarvis’ and for the four-bedroom ‘Mulberry’ houses, it’s the perfect choice for first-time buyers and families.
All new homes at the development enjoy a high standard specification including gas central heating, double glazing and fitted kitchen with built-in oven, hob and cooker hood, and each property also has at least one parking space or a garage.
Better still, George Wimpey offers a range of deals tailor-made for all types of buyers, including assistance for first-time buyers, while for those with a property to sell, the leading housebuilder’s Easymover programme offers a range of attractive incentives to help customers make a hassle-free move, including paying their estate agency fees, and contributing towards legal costs.
Oakhampton is ideally located near to a nature reserve and Hilton village centre is within easy walking distance with its general store, village hall and several public houses, including a 15th century inn.
Just a short drive away is the bustling city of Derby, home to a vast array of independent and high street stores, an excellent range of leisure facilities and a wide choice of bars and restaurants.
The Sales Centre, located off The Mease, is open seven days a week from 11am to 5pm. For more information visit Georgewimpey.co.uk.
