Baby molly gets a new home for her dolly in Derbyshire

Baby molly gets a new home for her dolly in Derbyshire New parents Jo Fox and Colin Egan took their baby daughter Molly out for a stroll – and came back with a brand new home!

The couple were living just one street away from The Park, George Wimpey's new development in Derbyshire, and so decided to pop in to see what was being built.

They were so impressed by the size, space and style of the properties on offer that they immediately decided to trade in their existing three-bedroom, three-storey townhouse for a brand new model.

Says Jo (34): "Obviously we knew the area well, but we just thought we'd go and see what was happening in our neighbourhood.

"We weren't really thinking of buying a new home, but once we saw what was on offer we knew we had to move. With a new baby, the layout of our three-storey home was inconvenient – there were always times when we were on a different floor to Molly."

Jo and 34-year-old Colin picked out their favourite home from the selection available, but while on another visit to the Leabrooks site they were told that the sale of a much sought-after four-bedroom 'Sapphire' house had fallen through.

They jumped at the chance to own the ‘Sapphire’ and just eight weeks later moved into the fantastic detached home.

Adds Jo: "The proportions and flow of rooms in the 'Sapphire' are perfect for us. It was fate that the sale fell through for someone else as we were at the development and it's given us the home of our dreams.

"The Park is a lovely place too. It was very peaceful when we visited and many of the new homeowners are the same ages as us.

"The properties are not built on top of one another and we knew it would be a lovely environment in which to bring up Molly."

Office manager Jo and project manager Colin are used to things running smoothly, so they opted for George Wimpey's easymover incentive to help with their homebuying.

The company organised and paid for a Home Information Pack and an estate agent to sell their existing home in just two weeks, found a solicitor and paid £500 towards legal fees and helped the couple move in with a free removals service.

Says Jo: "I have to say that the whole homebuying and moving experience with George Wimpey has been fantastic, very smooth and stress-free.

"We sold our house very quickly, but there were a few issues with our buyer being able to move fast enough so George Wimpey even found ways to help her.

"And the removals service was fantastic. All we had to do was walk into our new home and start unpacking boxes which had all been put in the correct rooms.

"They really did bend over backwards for us."

The Park is a development by George Wimpey, a housebuilding brand of Taylor Wimpey UK, and features a fantastic range of three and four-bedroom homes starting from £122,995.

It enjoys an excellent location at Leabrooks, just a five-minute walk from Somercotes’ well-served village centre, close to Derby city and within easy reach of miles of rolling countryside.

Somercotes offers a selection of local shops and services including schools and a medical centre, a small supermarket, a Post Office, a public house, fast-food outlets, a newsagent, a sports and social club, a hairdresser, a florist and a butcher’s shop.

For a wider variety of shopping and leisure amenities, Derby and Nottingham are each less than 20 miles away, and regular bus services run from the village.
