Caledonia’s newest bungalow style makes its debut at ‘The Avenue’

9th February 2007 Print
Hyndford exterior Caledonia Homes, the builder of 1930’s retro style properties, has opened its unique, four-bedroom ‘Hyndford’ showhome at ‘The Avenue’ all-bungalow development in the village of Kirkfieldbank in South Lanarkshire.

In keeping with all Caledonia showhomes, the new showhome has no furniture, allowing prospective buyers to more easily imagine their own possessions in position. Equally, as the Hyndford is particularly spacious, the absence of clutter truly emphasises just how much space is available in this particular bungalow style.

Caledonia Homes’ sales and marketing director, Caroline McMurdo, said: “Buyers will notice that the only thing our 1930’s inspired showhome lacks is furniture, as we prefer to concentrate people’s attention on the finer details and quality workmanship of our bungalows.”

Indeed, the Hyndford showhome demonstrates just that. This new bungalow style has been exclusively designed for The Avenue and along with the four-bedroom Cartland, Clydesholm and Garrion bungalows, is making its debut here. One of Caledonia’s most popular bungalow designs, the ‘Balbardie’, also features on the development.

Interior Art Deco touches, synonymous with the Caledonia Homes’ brand, can be found around the showhome and is in keeping with the property’s design.

On entry, a magnificent welcoming hallway is the centre of the home and provides enough space to accommodate a full scale get together. A spacious and fully fitted kitchen features French doors to the garden. This is ideal for ‘al fresco’ dining.

For socialising, a large lounge area is adjoined to the dining room through contemporary French doors. A bay window to the front of the room and French doors to the rear, ensure this is a very dynamic and enjoyable room to spend time in.

Every self-confessed glamour puss will love the master-bedroom. ‘His and hers’ built-in wardrobes occupy a separate passage way, which leads onto the en suite – cest tres chic! This huge room is accentuated by a box bay window which ensures natural light beams in.

There are three further double bedrooms all of which benefit from chic built-in wardrobes. There is also a family bathroom, WC and garage to this spacious bungalow.

Caroline adds: “I am so pleased to announce the opening of The Hyndford. This is the first chance for people to see the enormity of these homes for themselves and as it’s unique to this development, you won’t find these properties anywhere else.”

For many, Kirkfieldbank is the perfect place to put down roots. This semi-rural location is renowned for its extremely tranquil and calming atmosphere, yet is still incredibly well placed for commuting to the nearby M74.

The village itself has good local amenities with its own primary school, post office, general store and community centre. A secondary school and colleges of further education can be found in Hamilton and Motherwell, which are both close by.

For sporting enthusiasts, angling, golf and horse riding, are all readily available and an abundance of surrounding countryside provides the ideal place for taking leisurely strolls.

Prices at The Avenue currently start from £332,000 for a four-bedroom Garrion bungalow. For further information, visit caledoniahomes.com.
