Spring Arrives in the Orchard

21st March 2007 Print
Living room at Orchard Brae Spring has arrived at Miller Homes’ Orchard Brae development, Hamilton, where the launch of two new show apartments each display a palette of colours that finally banish the winter blues!

Situated within one of Hamilton’s most prestigious and sought after addresses, Auchingramont Road, Orchard Brae has the dual appeal of being in a modern apartment development, of two and three-bedroom properties, in an established residential enclave overlooking Cadzow Burn

“The entrance to Orchard Brae features Miller Home’s initial phase at the development, which is a refurbished, Victorian sandstone building. Therefore, it was important that the new build aspect would be able to blend with this, both internally and externally. I’m sure that visitors to our new show apartment will be able to see for themselves that we have achieved this on both levels,” said Joanne Casey, sales director, Miller Homes Limited (Scotland West).

The ground-floor show apartment is filled with many appealing features, such as the intriguing shape of the long hallway that immediately provides that space one would associate with a large tenement flat in the west end of Glasgow.

This feeling of traditional space and grandeur is further emphasised on entering the living area via double doors, where an elegant bay-window floods the room with natural light, further accentuating the natural tones and hues of the soft furnishings.

The living area is the epitome of understated elegance. A soft, cream carpet has been teamed with a Hessain coloured sofa and armchair, whilst a sumptuous, mocha coloured chaise-longue in front of the bay window is certain to tempt viewers into a state of complete relaxation. Accent colours of turquoise and toffee in the scatter cushions and lamp shades add the delicate finishing touches.

The kitchen is a mix of simplicity and functionality. Fully fitted white units, complete with pewter handles, sit in perfect harmony with the brushed steel oven, hob and cooker hood. The silver, cream and grey mosaic tiles further accentuate the minimalist styling of this room and give it a contemporary edge.

The master-bedroom is dominated by a striking, modern sleigh-bed, complete with brown leather head and foot board. The duck-egg blue bedcover is broken up by a bold flower motif; whilst the impressive brown leather ottoman and beside tables suggest masculine influences. The master-bedroom not only benefits from an en-suite, but is also equipped with its own telephone and TV points, as well as a digital aerial system.

The second-bedroom is as fresh as a spring morning, as crisp white walls and furniture act as the perfect backdrop to the vibrant bedcovers of blue, turquoise and lemon flowers. The third-bedroom has been dressed as a study come guest room, where the mock metallic bed frame and silver workstation create a highly practical work space, with the retro black, cream and silver dotted throw adding an element of fun.

The second-floor show apartment equally demonstrates the potential of each of the homes on offer at Orchard Brae. Again a bay windowed living area provides the ideal haven for relaxation or entertaining. A grand, chocolate coloured leather sofa effortlessly matches with the mahogany side board and large, ebony framed mirrors. Chrome and white leather combine to create two modern armchairs that are the ultimate in modern comfort.

The kitchen is much more in keeping with the established setting of Orchard Brae, as full-fitted pine units create a traditional look. However, the coffee, cream and taupe mosaic tiles, and stainless steel appliances, ensure that the kitchen has all the requisites required by a very modern buyer.

Each of the three bedrooms in this show apartment easily accommodates a double-bed, which further emphasises the size of all the properties available. The master-bedroom, again with the benefit of its own en-suite, features an uber-chic mirrored bed frame and beside tables. Even the beside lamps have mirrored shades; whilst warmth is added by the luxurious, brown satin eiderdown.

Both bedroom two and three are a mixture of dark chocolate, cream turquoise and duck egg blue. However by cleverly keeping the walls and carpeting neutral colours, both these rooms remain fresh and vibrant.

Hamilton is one of Scotland’s most attractive and vibrant towns, with a wealth of amenities to offer. Only a short stroll from Orchard Brae is the town centre with its wealth of shops, including the Regent Shopping Centre. Hamilton Palace Retail Park is also only a half mile from the development.

For buyers who enjoy the great outdoors, Strathclyde Country Park is a short drive from Orchard Brae and offers an endless choice of pursuits including windsurfing, water skiing, mountain biking and acres if unspoiled countryside. Also, the historic woodland of Chatelherault Country Park provides numerous walks and pathways.

Prices for the current release at Orchard Brae are from £172,000 for a two-bedroom apartment and £175,000 for a three-bedroom apartment. For further information, visit millerhomes.co.uk.
