Claimed to make the happiest home, the humble bungalow is one of the UK’s most sought-after house designs. Not least at Heather Lea, in Lanark, where a selection of three-bedroom bungalows have been snapped up, leaving just one ‘Victoria’ single storey home among the somewhat taller properties available.

They found that the bungalow came top in a survey that looked at a number of factors, including safety, space, privacy and sense of security.”
