Site manager builds on NHBC success Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s Paul Cunningham has proven himself to be amongst the best site managers in Scotland again this year by winning his second NHBC ‘Pride in the Job Award’.

Paul’s picked up this award for his outstanding leadership and results at the company’s Kingston Dock development in Port Glasgow.

Recognised as the ‘Oscars of the House-building industry’ - Pride in the Job has been rewarding site managers with excellent standards on site for 29 years and Paul has been hand-picked from thousands of competitors across the UK for an award this year.

Eleven years ago, Paul started his career with George Wimpey West Scotland as an assistant site manager, and has worked his way steadily through the ranks, to enjoy the last four years as a senior site manager with the company.

Enthusiasm and drive for perfection on-site have played a huge part in Paul picking up his second NHBC Pride in the Job Award as he explains: “Being acknowledged as a Pride in the Job Award winner for the second year in a row is brilliant, and it recognises the supreme team effort of everyone at Kingston Dock. It’s a personal challenge for me to lead my site team to continued success, and to consistently deliver high-quality homes where our customers want to live. Winning a ‘Pride in the Job’ is an important bench-mark of quality for the whole team, and clearly we hope to build on this success.”

Commenting on Paul’s second NHBC win, Steven Laurie, Production Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland said: “Pau’s no stranger to success with a string of national company customer care awards already under his belt. This award recognises Paul’s hard-work and determination throughout his career with the company, as well the high standards that we encourage each of our site managers to strive for each day on all of our sites.”

Away from work, Paul is a keen golfer, enjoys fishing and is an avid Scottish football fan, travelling around the world to support the national team.

Kingston Dock is now completed and comprises 92 stylish family homes in a range of three and four bedroom townhouses, as well as four bedroom detached homes in Port Glasgow.

Award-winning Paul is now senior site manager at the company’s flagship Thornton View development in East Kilbride, delivering a range of executive four and five bedroom homes.
