Barratt unveils showhomes at Ringland Park

An external view of Ringland Park Barratt Homes has unveiled two striking showhomes at its Ringland Park development, part of a brand new village at Queen’s Hills in Costessey, Norwich.

The opening of the two bedroom Washbourne house style and the three bedroom Eskdale has already increased the number of visitors to the development, with these keen to see how the innovative Home Zone scheme is shaping up.

A total of 1300 homes is being built by developers at Queen’s Hills, with the new village transforming the former gravel quarry located in Costessey Park, ancient manor parklands dating from the 11th century that include Costessey Park Golf Club. Popular in Europe, the Home Zone provides a safer living environment for young families by changing the balance of the street, making the pedestrian and cyclist the equal of a car. Carefully designed pedestrian spaces ensure play areas are accessible without the need to cross busy roads. Barratt is building 165 homes at Ringland Park; a mixture of one, two, three, four and five bedroom apartments and houses. Landscaping, planting, seating and integrated play areas will ensure a perfect setting, adjacent to woodland and near to Costessey’s vibrant village community.

The development has a superb countryside location, with the pleasures of the National Park and the Norfolk Broads within 25 miles, while also offering easy access to Norwich’s city centre, with this being around five miles away. Trains from Norwich run to destinations all over East Anglia, with Ipswich around 40 minutes away and the journey time to London Liverpool Street approximately two hours.

Norwich is said to be the UK’s most complete medieval city and as such it has been important to maintain its historic architecture while bringing back to life areas that had gone into decline. The redevelopment along the river, which incorporates residential and small businesses, is particularly good. Other areas that have been transformed include the old Boulton & Paul factory site, which is now a very popular area with café/bars and restaurants. Landmark buildings such as the Forum and two large shopping malls add to an impressive mix.
