Old or new, it’s up to you

Persimmon goes the extra mile to assist first time buyers When buying a new home the age old debate of whether to buy an older property or a new-build always arises. At Persimmon Homes’ popular Ashbrook Meadow development in Diss this need not be a worry, as visitors to the site will see for themselves the benefits of buying new with Persimmon.

With a range of housetypes suited to first time buyers, the homes at Ashbrook Meadow perfectly demonstrate where buying a new home significantly outweighs purchasing an older property.

“One such example of why buying new is so beneficial is the choice of incentives on offer, which can cut a good proportion of the cost associated with buying a home,” states Jon Gibbs, sales director for Persimmon Homes Anglia.

Persimmon is currently offering apartment purchasers five per cent deposit paid and a choice of fitted carpets throughout as well as the service charges paid for the first year. For those interested in the three bedroom Cranborne design, the company will give a £5,000 discount, £600 towards legal fees, a choice of carpets throughout and turf to the rear garden.

Jon continues: “Since everything in a newly built home is brand new, there’ll be no home improvement costs, no need to redecorate or have to worry about any DIY projects. Indeed, not having to upgrade an older property could save up to £22,000 – which is enough to buy a new car plus a family holiday – and still have money left over.”

Another advantage of a newly built home is that househunters will be safe in the knowledge that their new home is constructed with modern building products whilst benefiting from good sound and heat insulation, leading to lower fuel costs.

Jon concludes: “The significance of being able to get a foot onto the property ladder is of great importance to us at Persimmon Homes, which is why we are so committed to providing affordable homes and attractive incentives that allow first timers to do just that.”

Ashbrook Meadow is located in the picturesque Waveney Valley and is a leafy residential development incorporating a number of public open spaces including a brook which runs through the site and play areas. Situated off Branch Road, the development enjoys east access to Diss town centre which benefits from a plethora of vibrant shops and central market place.

Diss benefits from having good local infrastructure which makes it ideal for commuters with the A143 westbound to Bury St. Edmunds and the A14 and eastbound to Lowestoft and other attractive coastal towns.

The cities of Norwich and Ipswich are easily accessible via the A140. Diss railway is just a short walk from the development is on the main Norwich to London line with the commute just taking little over one and a half hours.
