The benefits of buying a new build home

The benefits of buying a new build home If you’ve made the decision to move home this year but can’t decide whether to choose an older property, or a new build housetype, leading developer, Persimmon Homes Anglia, has a number of reasons why househunters looking for a family home should take a trip to The Walnuts in Norwich, as several purchasers at the development are already reaping the rewards of buying a new home.

Jon Gibbs, sales director for Persimmon Homes Anglia, explains: “There is an abundance of statistics proving why new homes are more beneficial, for one there is no difficult or time consuming DIY to attempt and according to the New Homes Marketing Board, a brand new property is far more sustainable and up to 40 per cent more energy efficient than its older equivalent.”

He continues: “Due to new properties being more energy efficient, residents are safe in the knowledge that their heating won’t be as costly to run and with a variety of competitive incentives only available on new builds, a home built today is in general more affordable than one on the second hand market.”

Due to the popularity of Persimmon’s The Walnuts development, just three homes now remain for sale. Currently available is the four bedroom Hardwick and the five bedroom Highgrove and Broadland designs, which all offer ample living space for the modern family, whilst still retaining the internal layout of a popular traditional family home.

Prices at the development starts from £279,950 and for a limited period, Persimmon is offering a £30,000 discount on the Highgrove design for purchasers able to exchange contracts within 28 days. Other plot specific incentives include a two year mortgage subsidy of up to £500 per month, deposit paid, associated fees paid and flooring packages. Also available is the company’s popular part exchange scheme, which enables homeowners to move with ease, without the hassle of selling their existing house.

Jon concludes: “The homes we’ve already sold at the development have appealed to a number of differing purchasers including growing and large families. Our properties come with a two year guarantee and have a ten year warranty with the NHBC, making them a safe and advantageous option for those looking to move.”

The development, which is located just 15 minutes away from the heart of Norwich, is being constructed in a cul-de-sac design, which is ideal for families as children can play outside without the worry of traffic. The site will also incorporate two areas of open space.
