New home made send for Norfolk couple

28th May 2009 Print
New home made send for Norfolk couple Rebecca Hall and fiancé James Barnes love their brand new Bryant Homes apartment at the Kings Reach development in Kings Lynn, Norfolk – and better still, it won’t cost them a penny in maintenance or DIY.

The first-time buyers, who marry in July, chose to purchase a new-build home after seeing the survey on a second-hand property that they had initially planned to buy.

“I was really excited about getting our own place together,” says Rebecca (22), “but when I saw the survey results on the house we were interested in, I realised it would have cost us thousands of pounds in DIY on top of the mortgage and moving costs, so we didn’t go ahead with it.

“Fortunately my dad had found out about Bryant Homes’ new Kings Reach development. After looking around the show apartment and speaking to the Homes Consultant, we chose a lovely one-bedroom apartment with views over the pond and green.”

Rebecca, a dispensing assistant at Specsavers in Kings Lynn, and James (28), a warehouse supervisor for Premier Foods in Wisbech, had been renting a flat in Sutton Bridge in south-east Lincolnshire. But by taking advantage of Bryant Homes shared equity scheme, they were able to step onto the property ladder with a lower cost mortgage

“It was the perfect scheme for us,” adds Rebecca, “We were able to afford the home we wanted and it’s also good to know the money we are spending on our home is an investment for the future, and not just going on rent.

“The apartment also came with fitted carpets, and was ready for us to move in without having to spend any extra money on things like a new kitchen or bathroom.”

Bryant Homes is currently offering one-bedroom ‘Nene’ apartments to first-time buyers from just £74,995, complete with 5% deposit paid on the customer’s behalf or fully furnished.

With a show apartment now open, would-be home-owners can come along and see the layout, which comprises a fresh and modern living space characterised by a generous open-plan reception room, a contemporary kitchen with fitted units and an integrated oven, hob and hood, a light and airy double bedroom and a tiled bathroom. Outside there is an allocated parking space.

Unlike many second-hand properties on the market, Bryant’s high quality homes at Kings Reach benefit from central heating and double glazing.

As an alternative to the ‘Nene’, customers can choose a two-bedroom apartment priced from £82,995, a two-bedroom house starting at £104,995 or a three-bedroom house from £119,995.

The two-bedroom ‘Farringdon’ showhome and the three-bedroom ‘Wessex’ viewhome are also open for viewing.

Situated on the outskirts of Kings Lynn and close to a lake and Fenland countryside, Kings Reach offers homebuyers a tranquil location yet close to a choice of shops, pubs and places to eat.

For commuters, the A10 and A47 are both within a few minutes’ drive. The city of Peterborough and the north Norfolk coast are also easily reached by road.

For further information, visit the Marketing Suite off Anthony Nolan Road, Kings Lynn, which is open seven days a week, from 10am to 5pm on Tuesday to Sunday and from 1pm to 5pm on Monday, or go online to Bryant.co.uk .
