Redrow’s reputation holds the key

Redrow’s reputation holds the key A family preparing to move thousands of miles from Canada to South Wales have chosen a beautiful home at Redrow’s picturesque Dôl Gorwel development.

Army trainer John Lafferty, 36, has been posted back to Salisbury in the UK, so he and his wife Maxine, 33, and daughter Tamara, 10, decided to move to North Cornelly, near Bridgend, to be close to their family.

John, who assists in the training of soldiers in Canada for deployment on operations, said he and his family decided to move to a Redrow home because of the housebuilder’s excellent reputation.

He said “We are moving back to the UK, again because of my posting, early next year. We used to own a home in Ripon, North Yorkshire, which we had been renting out while living in Canada. However my next posting is to the Salisbury area and it would be too far to commute to Ripon so we decided to sell our house and buy one which was a bit closer.

“We were browsing on the internet looking for suitable properties when my wife said that she would like to return home to South Wales, as she could be close to her family whom she misses. My daughter also misses her cousins and grandparents so we decided to focus our search in this area.

“We found the Dôl Gorwel development and this proved to be an ideal location for us as it is close to some beautiful beaches and countryside. I love mountaineering, hill walking and camping and the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons are close by. My daughter and wife both love the beach.

“We had not seen the property when we bought it but were relying on what Maxine's parents told us about it. It was a bit of a risk for us to buy something we had not seen, however, we were fully aware of Redrow's reputation for quality builds as we had looked at their houses before.”

The Lafferty family opted for the beautiful Parrett-design four-bedroom home with an en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom, an integral single garage, separate dining room, handy utility room, plenty of under stairs storage and a downstairs cloakroom.

Rachael Davies, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales), says: “Dôl Gorwel has a lot to offer families. The development is situated in the village of North Cornelly, just four miles from the prestigious seaside resort of Porthcawl and six miles from the bustling town of Bridgend, with all its shops, bars and restaurants.

“After such a big move we’re sure that John and his family will feel at home at Dôl Gorwel. It really is a great development and we would encourage anyone to come and see for themselves what is on offer.”

As well as boasting a prime location, Dôl Gorwel features a host of elegant and stylish homes. A selection of three and four-bedroom homes are still available from £169,995 to £223,995.
