Movin’ and shakin’ with Redrow

Movin’ and shakin’ with Redrow A decorator originally from Cardiff and his wife from Bristol have brought the spirit of 50’s Rock ‘n’ Roll to Redrow’s development in North Cornelly.

Dance-loving Frank Langford, and his wife, Jane, who have set up a rock ‘n’ roll jive class in the village, moved to the housebuilder’s Dôl Gorwel development after a 20-year absence from his home country of Wales.

The 49-year-old father-of-two lived in Bristol, but after deciding to return over the border he immediately fell in love with Redrow’s Welsh properties.

He said: “I wanted to move back and we began to house hunt around the area. We found Dôl Gorwel and it was everything we were looking for. The house we chose was the offer of the month, a lovely three-story Neale townhouse, with four bedrooms.

“We started the Rock ‘n’ Roll club purely because we love it, it’s not a money making enterprise at all; we only charge £3. We teach original 50’s rock ‘n’ roll dancing at Kenfig Hill Labour Club every Wednesday and on the first Friday of the month we have a band night, which is always great fun. We also teach a children’s and adults’ class on Monday nights for Performing Arts Cymru.

“It’s just a chance for people in the village to get involved in something a bit different. It really creates a sense of community, which is great.”

Rachael Davies, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales), says: “Dôl Gorwel has a lot to offer families. The development is just four miles from the prestigious seaside resort of Porthcawl and six miles from the bustling town of Bridgend, with all its shops, bars and restaurants.

“The development features homes to suit everyone. It’s close to a small selection of shops and features a number of local leisure and recreational facilities nearby including swimming, fitness centre, golf club, restaurants and public houses.

“The Kenfig Nature reserve is within walking distance of the development and offers beautiful walks and views over the sand dunes.”

As well as boasting a prime location, Dôl Gorwel features a host of elegant and stylish homes. A selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes are still available from £134,995 to £220,995.
