Longing for a detached lifestyle

9th April 2008 Print
Longing for a detached lifestyle Detached living may be on the decline, but the desire to live in stand alone homes is on the up in North Cornelly. That’s according to Redrow Homes, the house builder responsible for the Dôl Gorwel development, where interest in the select number of detached properties is growing.

Brand new detached properties have always been an aspiration for many people but with fewer being constructed under current planning guidelines to maximise land use, potential buyers can often be left disappointed.

Rachael Davies, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales), said: “It’s true that the percentage of detached properties being built is decreasing, as government guidelines require that house builders create more three-storey townhouses and linked properties to make the most of space available.

“As well as its detached properties, Dôl Gorwel has a lot more to offer residents. The development is just four miles from the prestigious seaside resort of Porthcawl and six miles from the bustling town of Bridgend, with all its shops, bars and restaurants.

“The development features homes to suit everyone. It’s close to a small selection of shops and there are a number of local leisure and recreational facilities nearby including swimming, a fitness centre, golf club, restaurants and public houses. The Kenfig Nature reserve is within walking distance of the development and offers beautiful walks and views over the sand dunes.”

Among the detached properties available are the four-bedroom ‘Parrett’ and ‘Roadford’ luxury family homes.

The Parrett has a generous lounge and separate dining room with French doors opening up to the impressive rear garden. A spacious kitchen with utility room, a cloakroom and storage make up the rest of the ground floor. The first floor consists of a master bedroom with en-suite shower room, and three further bedrooms, in addition to a fully fitted stylish family bathroom.

Likewise life in the ‘Roadford’ house type is the epitome of luxury family living. The feature bay window creates a light and airy lounge, while the adjoining dining room is perfect for formal occasions. The grand kitchen with contemporary units and breakfast area leads to a garden to the rear. The master bedroom boasts a modern en-suite shower room, while three additional bedrooms and a family bathroom occupy the remainder of the first floor.

Dôl Gorwel features a host of elegant and stylish two, three and four-bedroom homes available from £134,995 to £219,995.
