Barratt site managers from Hull scoop top industry awards

Three site managers from Hull were amongst those to win a coveted Pride In The Job award, which are presented by the industry’s watchdog body, the National House Building Council. Mark Thomson, Paul Dearnley and Simon Allerston have been recognised for their respective work at Waterside Park and Kings Park in Hull and The Crayke in Bridlington. This is the second year running that Simon Allerston has won a Pride In The Job Award.
The honours are the most coveted in the industry and are awarded after NHBC inspectors carry out a series of unannounced site inspections to select the best-organised and best-built housing developments.
Around 18,000 site managers throughout the UK are judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety.
Barratt Group Chief Executive Mark Clare said: “Our Barratt and David Wilson site teams across Britain have again shown they are among the best in the business and I am extremely proud of their achievements. The awards are not only recognition of their skills and dedication, but also give added reassurance to our buyers.
“The awards are the most respected in the industry because sites are examined at every stage by NHBC inspectors, and are recognised as an especially accurate measure of performance. While our site managers play a pivotal role in setting quality standards, they are the first to admit that running a successful site is all about teamwork.”
The Barratt Group, which recently acquired Wilson Bowden PLC, now has a network of 35 housebuilding divisions throughout Britain and sells homes under the Barratt, David Wilson and Ward Homes brands.
