Bridlington rocks Persimmon Homes has always known it and now Halifax, the nation’s biggest lender, has announced that when it comes to finding seaside towns that offer the best quality of life, Bridlington just can’t be beaten.

This popular coastal retreat has topped the Halifax’s poll due to its combination of relatively low property prices, with the average home in Bridllington priced at £139,645, good council services and schools along with low crime rates.

And the Yorkshire Tourist Board is also in agreement, having recently awarded Bridlington a White Rose Award for Visitor Destination of the Year.

These factors, combined with the fact that Bridlington is undergoing a multi million pound regeneration is sure to enhance its appeal as Karen Harrowell, sales director for Persimmon Homes East Yorkshire, comments: “We have built in Bridlington for more than a decade so know all about its potential however, the millions of pounds that are being ploughed into its regeneration which will see unused land transformed, improvements to the infrastructure and sites developed to attract investment, will further increase its desirability.

“Over the next few years, Bridlington will undoubtedly emerge as vibrant, attractive and fashionable. As a result, we are finding more and more house hunters are looking for ways they can buy property now, safe in the knowledge that once the regeneration project is complete, the area will become the destination in East Yorkshire for anyone looking for an exciting place to live, work and play.”

The launch of new residential schemes form part of Bridlington’s regeneration. Persimmon is due to start work to construct 15 two bedroom apartments and one retail unit at its soon-to-launch Aquarius development at Promenade and Karen believes the £2.1 million scheme will be another of its success stories.

She said: “This is a prime site in Bridlington and we are thrilled to have been received planning permission. We hope to start work in the next few weeks and first occupations are scheduled for summertime next year.”
