Direct help for Driffield house hunters

23rd April 2009 Print
Don’t believe you can afford the brand new home you’ve always dreamt of? Think again. With homes at the Woodland Rise development in Driffield priced from just £90,999 through the HomeBuy Direct scheme, Persimmon is helping house hunters become fully fledged home owners.

HomeBuy Direct is a Government scheme designed to help house hunters, who are priced out of the housing market in their local area, buy a brand new home at a fraction of its market value.

The scheme enables households with incomes below £60,000, who can not otherwise afford to purchase unassisted on the open market, to buy a new build home. House hunters will be required to raise funding, including a mortgage plus any deposit, of at least 70 per cent of the purchase price. The remaining 30 per cent is made up by an equity loan which is co-funded by the Government and Persimmon Homes.

Karen Harrowell, sales director for Persimmon Homes Yorkshire, said: “We are convinced that with interest rates at an all time historic level, practical schemes such as HomeBuy Direct and competitively priced homes such as the two bedroom Folkestone bungalow at Woodland Rise which is available at just £90,999, house hunters will realise that there has never been a better time to purchase a new home.”

Woodland Rise, situated on Bridlington Road in Driffield, comprises a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes. The development is well served with a good range of local shops and amenities in nearby Driffield – a thriving market town and annually holds one of the finest one day agricultural show in Britain. For seaside lovers, the coast is around 12 miles away.
