Direct help for buyers in Market Weighton Determined to make 2009 the year you step on the property ladder but are unsure about whether now is a good time to buy? Heard the words ‘HomeBuy Direct’ but don’t completely understand what the scheme is actually all about?

If so, you need to make sure you attend the first time buyers’ event at King’s Court in Market Weighton this weekend, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July.

Independent financial advisers will be on hand to discuss finance options and Persimmon’s experienced sales adviser from King’s Court, John Martin, will be available to take applications for HomeBuy Direct - the newly launched Government-funded shared equity scheme.

However, it’s not just free financial advice that’ll be on offer at King’s Court as visitors will be able to take advantage of some great prices, including the competitive price tag on the two bedroom Dorset housetype at plot 51 which, with HomeBuy Direct, is just £87,499.

HomeBuy Direct aims to put households with incomes below £60,000 in a position where they can afford to purchase on the open market and who are specifically buying a new build property. Househunters are only required to raise funding for 70 per cent of the purchase price including a mortgage and the remaining 30 per cent is made up by an equity loan which is co-funded by the Government and Persimmon Homes.

Even if house hunters haven’t got a deposit for a new home, but desperately want to move, there’s no need to worry as the HomeBuy Direct scheme is aimed at those who haven’t built up a substantial bank of savings to help them onto the property ladder – the only thing they have to pay is a visit to King’s Court.

Karen Harrowell, sales director for Persimmon Homes Yorkshire, is confident the event will be of help to the region’s house hunters. She said: “Those who have never bought before may be unfamiliar with the jargon that’s associated with buying property and may feel the whole process is something of a minefield.

“However, with our help, we can prove that it’s not as complicated as first imagined. Anyone who is looking to take their first exciting step on the property ladder should definitely pay a visit to the event at King’s Court and have a chat with our experts.”

Kings Court is situated on Sancton Road. Between Hull and York, ideally placed for the M62 and Brough where trains to London operate five times daily means Market Weighton is the perfect bolthole for commuters. Local amenities are plentiful in Market Weighton however a wider selection are just a car or train journey away.
