Bellway invites you to try before you buy

Bellway invites you to try before you buy National house builder, Bellway has come up with an innovative scheme to entice first time buyers onto the housing ladder. ‘Try before you buy’ allows would-be purchasers to rent a brand new Bellway home for up to 12 months – and potentially live rent-free for the first year.

At the end of the year, or earlier the tenant has the option to buy the home. If the tenant decides to purchase all of the previous rental payments will be deducted in full from the sale price of the home.

Commenting on the scheme, sales director, Rob Armstrong from Bellway said: “This scheme works on several levels. We know there are a lot of people wishing to buy a new home, but some people have concerns as a result of the economic downturn. Try before you buy is designed to mitigate these fears by allowing you to rent the property for up to 12 months at which point you can walk away or buy the home. Utilising the rental payments also provides a unique cost effective way of saving up a sizeable deposit but doing so whilst living in and enjoying the new home.

“The unique difference with our scheme is that should you decide to buy, all the rental payments will be deducted from the sale price of the house, so in effect you will have lived rent free for up to 12 months. Secondly, you will have all the benefits of living in a brand new modern home that has been expertly designed and built. Utility bills will be lower as a result of modern building technology and all our new homes come complete with brand new kitchen appliances.”

Bellway will be piloting the scheme at its Ochre Yard development overlooking the Tyne. In ‘Tranquillity House’ Bellway is offering a selection of studio, 1 and 2 bedroom apartments for a monthly rent of £450.00 for a studio and £750 monthly rent for a two bedroom apartment.

“This really is a fantastic offer for those people renting who are eager to buy a home of their very own,” said Rob.

Ochre Yard is centrally located with access to all major routes and within easy reach of Newcastle station and airport. The development is within minutes of vibrant Newcastle, amenities within walking distance include the Sage music centre, Baltic Gallery and Newcastle’s famous Millennium tilting bridge.
