Trophy treat for FC Sparta under 7’s stars

The Football Club Sparta under 7’s development team is celebrating their first season on the pitch. The proud players were awarded trophies sponsored by Primo by Gladedale at their end-of-season presentation. The team finished fifth in the Monkton League and ended on a high being rewarded ‘The Most Improved Team of the Season’ award.

The leading housebuilder has sponsored their site manager David Smith’s son’s FC Sparta under 7’s team with provision of sporting kit since the start of the season last year.

David Smith has been extremely proud of his son, Harry, during the whole season and particularly when his team was named ‘The Most Improved Team of the Season’, he said: “I have followed the team all season and everyone in the team have progressed massively this year.

“Encouraging kids to get involved in football from a young age really make a valuable contribution to many areas of their lives. I’d like to thank everyone at Gladedale for their support.”

David Smith has been with Gladedale for almost five years and recently re-located to the Spiro Court development in Consett in picturesque County Durham.
