Gladedale marks history with Spiro Court development

13th August 2008 Print
Gladedale is marking local history by naming its new development Spiro Court, after the local Consett Iron Works, as it opens a new showhome this weekend. Located in the picturesque village of Consett in beautiful County Durham, the development takes its name from the Spirocon department at the local iron works which made specialist spiral pipes.

Councillor Frederick Todd, commented: "I grew up in this area and it is great to see local industrial history being kept alive in this way. The iron works was a major industry in Consett and Spirocon undertook a specialist process of making huge spiral pipes up to six or seven feet in diameter. It is important that we remember local industries such as this which have played an important part in shaping the local area to become what it is today."

Homebuyers looking for a spacious property within easy commuting distance of Durham and Sunderland will be impressed by the homes from Gladedale at Spiro Court which comprises two and three bedroom semi detached and three and four bedroom detached homes

The award-winning housebuilder is unveiling a new showhome, three bedroom semi detached Tornado, which is brought to life with a striking interior design scheme.

Downstairs features a spacious fully fitted kitchen/dining room and lounge with a bay window, making it light and airy. The three bedrooms are located on the upper floor with the master bedroom including an en suite shower room.
