Buyers snap up new homes in Durham Eager house hunters are out in force at Beechwood in Durham, where Barratt sales adviser Audra Simm has sold six new homes in the last six weeks. They are bucking the national trend of slow sales to take advantage of substantial discounts and a range of money-saving deals.

Barratt North East sales manager Steve Mariner said: "We've seen a lot of activity at Beechwood and other developments in Durham in recent weeks as people take advantage of our special offers to save thousands of pounds on a new home.

"If you're a first-time buyer, for example, you don't have to worry about finding the 5 per cent deposit and you could move in for just £99.

"Move-up buyers could take advantage of our part exchange service, so they don't have to worry about finding a buyer for their old place, and also enjoy a 12-month mortgage subsidy.

"However these deals are only available for a limited period, so it's a case of first come first served."

The stylish ‘Norbury' townhouse is now available at Beechwood for £179,995, down from £194,000, and Barratt will also include carpets and white goods.

The Norbury offers modern, flexible living space. It features a spacious ground floor living room, with dining area and French doors, and there is also a fully-fitted breakfasting kitchen plus a cloakroom. The first floor features two double bedrooms and bathroom, while the top floor master bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and en suite.

Beechwood enjoys a quiet village location in Sacriston, just three miles from Durham city centre, and offers peaceful surroundings within easy reach of amenities and major road and rail links.

Barratt is providing a good mix of 2, 3 and 4-bedroom family homes at prices from £82,500 to £215,000.
