Primary school pupils draw dream homes

The pictures were designed and created by children across the school as part of a competition held by George Wimpey. Sales executives at The Green chose their favourite five to hang on the wall of the sales office on Berry Edge Road, where George Wimpey is currently building the luxury development of two, three and four bedroom homes.
George Wimpey North East sales and marketing director, Joan Peart, said: “We are always looking for new ways to get involved with the local community and this is perfect – we have five bespoke pieces of artwork for our sales area and the children have their work displayed for visitors to admire.
“We had some lovely entries from the school complete with swimming pools, sweet shops and mini observatories and it was a tough decision picking only five winners. They’ve given the sales area a real personal touch.”
Mrs Pat Henson, headteacher of St Patricks RC Primary School said “The children really enjoyed doing this project as they love doing artwork of any kind. It was lovely to see how imaginative their dream homes were.”
The five pictures now hanging in the sales office were drawn by Sarah Brady aged ten from Year 5, Jack Thorpe and Angelika Wielechowska both aged eight and from Year 3, Callum Kennedy aged seven from Year 2 and Caitlin Woodland aged four from Reception.
Only a select number of properties remain for sale at this popular development including a four bedroom Ullswater at £149,995, two of the three bedroom Buttermere starting from £109,995 and three Thirlmere homes available on the HomeBuy Direct Scheme from £139,995.
As well as enjoying a glorious countryside setting, the development is just 13 miles away from Newcastle city centre and provides easy access to the A1 and the A69, so it is ideally suited for those who work in the city but want to escape to a countryside retreat at the end of the day.
Consett town centre with its wealth of shops, supermarkets and local amenities is just a short walk away, while for families, there are several schools close by as well as Derwentside College.
