Redrow serves up a tasty pairing in Abergavenny Michelin starred chef James Sommerin will be helping award winning Redrow give home buyers a delicious helping of food for thought at Croesonnen Court in Abergavenny. James, executive chef at The Crown restaurants at Whitebrook, near Monmouth and the Celtic Manor, in Newport, will be helping Redrow launch its brand new show home on Saturday, September 12th, by showing off his cookery skills in the ‘Rhosgwyn’ style property’s fantastic new kitchen.

As a curtain raiser to the Abergavenny Food Festival, sponsored by Redrow and taking place the following weekend, James will host a series of bite-size demonstrations and tastings at Croesonnen Court between 12 noon and 4pm.

And whilst James tickles visitors’ taste buds with some of his trademark fish and shell fish specialities, including such delicacies as langoustines and lobster, Redrow will have some tasty offerings of its own on the menu.

The beautiful new Rhosgwyn show home will be served up to whet the appetite of home buyers hungry for a luxurious new home. With almost 2,000 sq ft of sumptuous living space and boasting a desirable new specification, the show home represents the ‘crème de la crème’ of Redrow’s housing range.

And anyone tempted to reserve a property between September 12th and the end of the Abergavenny Food Festival, on September 20th, will be treated to a ‘Chef for a Day’ experience for two people at the multi award winning Crown at Whitebrook.

Once they’ve moved into their new home they’ll look forward to this amazing day, which includes the chance to experience life in a busy professional kitchen, enjoy a tutored wine sampling and, after a day in the kitchen, sit down to an eight course tasting menu with accompanying wines before enjoying a luxury overnight stay.

Debby Pavitt, sales director for Redrow Homes (South Wales), says: “We’re delighted to have such a talented chef as James helping us to launch our new show home. Creating a sleek, contemporary yet practical kitchen was at the very heart of Redrow’s philosophy when redesigning our interior specification, so having someone like James on board to put the Rhosgwyn’s kitchen through its paces is a great honour.”

Redrow’s new-look interiors also include an emphasis on more convivial open-plan living, which is great for entertaining.

The new show home has been dressed as a classical family home with a contemporary twist to reflect the discerning tastes of the likely purchaser. It displays a colour palette of ivory, mink and bronze, accented with purple tones, and exudes quality from its traditional damask and ‘toile de Jouy’ wallpapers to silk curtains and ivory antique style curtain poles with decadent trimmed tie backs.

The Rhosgwyn is the largest home for sale at Croesonnen Court, with five bedrooms, plus a study, and three bathrooms. The principal bedroom has a spacious walk-in wardrobe as well as an en-suite.

Four and five-bedroom detached homes at Croesonnen Court are currently priced from £299,995, up to £364,995 for a Rhosgwyn similar to the new show home.

The development is conveniently located for all the amenities of Abergavenny town centre, including its individual shops and regular farmers’ markets. There are also good primary and secondary schools close by, plus an impressive selection of pubs and restaurants.

For commuters, there are good road links to Newport and Cardiff, with the M4 and M50 motorways both easily reached. Abergavenny Train Station is less than a mile away with direct services to Newport and Cardiff.

Redrow’s event on September 12th will also see the winner drawn in a free prize draw that has been publicised in the run up to the Abergavenny Food Festival, with a prize of dinner for two at The Crown at Whitebrook. And James will be back in action at the food festival itself with a Great Welsh Restaurant Taster session on Sunday, September 20th.

Join Redrow at Croesonnen Court on Saturday, September 12th, any time between 12 noon and 4pm for a taste of James Sommerin’s culinary skills, to savour the new Rhosgwyn show home and sample other homes on Redrow’s impressive menu.
