TAP strengthens investment in Angola

22nd December 2006 Print
Last December 5 and 12, TAP freighted two cargo aircraft to Luanda reaching a total of 8 cargo flights to Angola throughout 2006. These two commercial flights - the result of increased market demand - reflect growth in cargo traffic to this destination and attest to the growing dynamism of the company’s cargo sector.

170 tons of cargo was transported on these two flights operating with 747-220F aircraft, from several locations in Europe and America in addition to Portugal, destined for the Angolan capital.

These two flights are the result of investment TAP has been making throughout the year in the Angolan market, increasing the number of cargo flights and reinforcing connecting flights to this destination.

The 750 thousand euros or thereabouts in revenue from these freight flights represent a valuable contribution for TAP. This has helped enable the company to surpass its forecast revenue target for TAP Cargo of 100 million euro in the current year of 2006.
