RTP & TAP renew and amplify partnership

Rádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP) and TAP Portugal have announced the supply of program content from RTP for broadcasting onboard the Portuguese airline company’s aircraft.

The agreement has now been renewed for 2007 and 2008 and now includes besides the televised component, content from 12 thematic audio channels which RTP is to begin production of in March 2007.

Televised content refers to daily news programs produced in Portuguese and English as well as regular programming on African current affairs, Portuguese culture and language, tourism, gastronomy and comedy, including the 'Stinky Cat' program.

Under the new radio perspective, the deal includes among others, Portuguese, Brazilian and African music channels, classical music, jazz, chill-out and pop-rock, as well as infant-juvenile program content.

Since 2004, this partnership has allowed for widespread disclosure of program content produced by RTP to millions of passengers that TAP transports a year throughout the world.

The deal seals the association of two of the most emblematic national companies, each one embodying a reference in their specific field of activity.
