Record TAP fleet with new A330
The TAP fleet now numbers 49 units, a new absolute record, with the entry into service of its fourth A330 registered under CS-TOH and known as the “Nuno Goncalves” in honor of the great 15th Century Portuguese painter.The new A330 painted in the Star Alliance livery, is the first of a series of four aircraft purchased by TAP from Austrian Airlines and entered into service yesterday flying TP 432 Lisbon – Paris (Orly) and TP 493 Paris – Lisbon, followed by flight TP 165 Lisbon – Fortaleza and back.
The other A330 aircraft purchased from the Austrian airline company should be included in the TAP fleet by the end of September and then the airline’s long-haul fleet will total 17 aircraft of a total of 52.
In November, TAP will begin the total renewal of its long-haul fleet with the arrival of one more A330 from the factory that will replace one of the A310’s currently in service.
