TAP launches extra daily fights to Nice and Toulouse

6th September 2007 Print
From September 15 TAP will operate more daily flights to Nice and Toulouse with departures from Lisbon, reinforcing its offer of flights to France – one of the most representative markets of the Company’s European network. The range of destinations served now operates with a basic 19 flights a day available rising to 20 during peak periods.

New options introduced from now by TAP are second daily flights to Toulouse and Nice, a city which is served by three daily flights during peak traffic periods.

To add to these, the Company has scheduled seven flights day from Lisbon to Paris (five to Orly and two to Charles de Gaulle), four flights a day departing from Porto to Paris (three to Orly and one to Charles de Gaulle), three flights a day Lisbon/Lyon and also seven flights a week to Marseilles, a destination which at peak periods reaches two flights a day.

This strengthening of its operations is in line with the growth strategy defined by TAP and with the goal of increasingly improving and meeting customer needs, offering them a wider range of services to France both from Lisbon and Porto.

This way the Company is offering increased ease and better availability of flights for its Customers to that Country and in addition to continuing its efforts to promote Portugal as a destination by intensifying the number of direct flights to France. As well as counting on a significant Portuguese community resident there, it is also one of the main visitor issuing markets in Europe.

In line with the evolution of traffic, potential increases in flights to Toulouse, Marseilles and Lyon are being studied in an effort to meet increased demand.

During the first seven months of this year (January – July accumulated), TAP transported more than 450 thousand passengers (453,266) on routes to France, a figure that exceeds by 11.8 percent total traffic transported in the same period in 2006.
