TAP extends Lisbon to Frankfurt service

29th November 2007 Print
TAP and the Japanese company All Nippon Airways (ANA), its Star Alliance partner, are extending their already existing cooperation within the sphere of their Star Alliance partnership with the start of code-share operations on flights between Lisbon and Frankfurt, one of the European gateways of ANA, from December 16 of this year.

ANA will start using its code – NH – on flights operated by TAP, adding the Portuguese capital to its network. ANA customers will thus start to benefit from the option of booking their flights online to Lisbon from Frankfurt via the ANA SKY WEB website, as well as the possibility of using a simplified itinerary and just a single flight code.

“We are very happy to be working in closer cooperation with TAP Portugal with a view to simplifying our customers' travel experience and offering them as pleasant a trip as possible”, said Keisuke Okada, executive vice-chairman of International Relations at ANA. “With this new step in our cooperation, it will be even easier for customers to benefit from the joint facilities on offer from ANA and TAP as member companies of Star Alliance, on trips between Japan and Portugal”, Keisuke Okada concluded.

“It is in fact a great step with a view to the creation of ever closer air ties between Japan and Portugal. TAP Portugal is as a result, very satisfied to be able to interconnect its network with that of ANA in a more appropriate way, offering as a result, a wider and better array of options for passengers between the two countries”, pointed out José Guedes Dias, vice-chairman of Alliances & International Relations at TAP.

“When recognizing the high quality of the product offered by our partnership alliance with ANA, I am certain that increasingly more passengers will be attracted into using out joint services, making this partnership a great success”.
