TAP reaches 1 millionth passenger on flights to Brazil

On December 24 TAP hit another historic number on its flights to Brazil by transporting 1 million passengers for the first time during the same year. In this case, Mario Sergio Limberte who traveled with his wife Dirce Limberte from Sao Paulo to Lisbon, before flying onto Barcelona and then to Porto where they will spend a week before returning to Brazil.

By reaching its millionth passenger on flights to Brazil, TAP has once again confirmed the justification of its investment in strategic growth which it has made in recent years, especially with the expansion of its network and offer of new destinations. In the case of Brazil, TAP inaugurated this year flights to Brasilia and has already scheduled the opening up of its route from Lisbon to Belo Horizonte in 2008 on February 11. It will also further reinforce its offer of flights throughout the year to the Brazilian Northeast with the replacement of the Airbus 310 by the 330 model, an aircraft with increased passenger capacity.

With this new connection to the capital of Minas Gerais State, TAP now offers 65 flights a week to a total of eight Brazilian cities.

In 2007, the national airline transport company has already reached growth in excess of 16 percent in its operations in Brazil and an average occupancy rate of over 80 percent on flights between Portugal and Brazil. These results assure TAP a position as the leading passenger airline company operating between Europe and Brazil and reflects the how well received company products have been by customers.

Among investments that have been made, the offer of new destinations, increased flights and improved in-flight service are worthy of mention and from October menus with gastronomic creations designed by the renowned Brazilian Chef Danio Braga are available in Top Executive class on all flights departing Brazil.
