Star Alliance launches online fare calculator

24th January 2008 Print
Customers who organize their trips using the array of Star Alliance ticket-tariff products now have a new online tool to facilitate their travel plans. The Circle Fare and Airpass Calculator, available via the Star Alliance website at Staralliance.com/fareproductcalculators enables customers to program their preferred flights in a more convenient way, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Once an itinerary for the desired trip has been created, it is possible to transmit this information to one of the Alliance companies in order to issue the ticket or print it out and take it to a travel agent.

“At Star Alliance we offer our customers a wide array of ticket-tariff options on flights across the network of 19 member companies which make up our market leader alliance.

“Calculating your ideal travel program from what was effectively such a vast amount of destinations, countries and flights was a very complex task in the past. We are very satisfied with this new online tool which we can now offer our customers and via which they can plan their personalized travel itineraries in an easy and straightforward way”, said Horst Findeisen, vice-chairman for Business Development at Star Alliance.

Circle Fare and the Airpass Calculator enable customers to create their itineraries with any of the nine Star Alliance ticket-tariff products listed below:

Circle Asia Fare
Circle Pacific Fare
African Airpass
Asian Airpass
European Airpass
Japan Airpass
North American Airpass
South Pacific Airpass
Thailand Airpass

Star Alliance introduced an online ticket-tariff tool – the Round the World Mileage Calculator - in 2004 with which customers can program the worldwide itinerary of their trips from the comfort of their own home. With the addition of Circle Fare and the Airpass Calculator, all Star Alliance ticket-tariff products available to the public are now offered via an online planning tool.
