Seal returned to natural habitat with help of TAP

14th May 2008 Print
A seal housed at the Marine Species Rehabilitation Center in Albufeira, a marine animal shelter, was flown out yesterday on flight TP356 destined for London. The TAP Cargo crew accompanied this delicate transport operation from the start ensuring the success of the voyage.

The animal, baptized as Fabula, travelled to the National Seal Sanctuary where it was returned to its natural habitat. This center, specializing in the rescue and rehabilitation of marine animals has been operating in Cornwall since 1958.

Since it is a wild animal with special needs, the grey seal (Halichoerus grypus) was accompanied by its handlers, biologists and vets until the moment of departure.

TAP has a lot of experience transporting life animals and is very proud to be associated with actions to protect endangered species.
