TAP pays homage in farewell to A310

29th May 2008 Print
Twenty years after beginning flights with TAP livery, the A310 Airbus bids farewell to the company this year. To mark this milestone, the "Bartholomeu Dias" CS-THE A310 will take part in AeroNostalgia 2008, an aeronautical event to be held at the Sintra Airbase on May 25 between 2:00 and 6:30pm. In the evening, there will be an A410 farewell dinner at the Air Force Academy mess.

The TAP A310 still have a high standard of performance and comfort but they are being replaced in the TAP fleet by the more modern and efficient A330.

AeroNostalgia, this year in its fifth edition, is an aeronautical event dedicated to classical aviation and organized by Aero Fenix. The TAP Museum collection as well as those of the Air Museum and Aero Fenix Museum and private collections will be on show at this edition of the event, which will have other attractions such as exhibitions by the civilian formations "Patrulha Fantasma” (Phantom Patrol) and “Smoke Wings” as well as the military formations “Asas de Portugal” (Wings of Portugal) and “Rotores de Portugal” (Propellers of Portugal).

In addition, along with the A310, a parade of company and airline company uniforms – the Air Fashion Show – will be held, organized by Just Models in close collaboration with Oceanwings, the major sponsor of AeroNostalgia. One of the aims of AeroNostalgia 2008 is to attract the attention of the general public and potential supporters in particular of the major need to help equip the Air Museum with new facilities.

Entry to AeroNostalgia is free but it is suggested that donations be made upon entry in support of the Air Museum and Aero Fenix Museum. Further information on this event is available on the Internet at Aeronauta.com/an2008.
