24th July 2008 Print
TAP is to begin flights to Morocco from October 27 2008 with the offer of six flights a week. Flights between Lisbon and Casablanca will run every day except on Sundays.

Operating with Embraer aircraft from PGA with a capacity for 45 passengers, flights on this new leg depart from Lisbon at 2:05pm and arrive in Casablanca at 3:35pm. On the return leg they depart from Casablanca at 4:15pm and land in the Portuguese capital at 5:45pm.

With this new destination now operational TAP now flies to nine destinations on the African continent which in total now offer 41 flights a week. Besides Casablanca, TAP also serves the cities of Bissau, Dakar, Luanda, Maputo, Johannesburg, Sal, Praia and Sao Tome.

The choice of Casablanca, one of the largest and most important Moroccan cities was the result of rigorous market analysis and will enable TAP to diversity its activities and thus meet market demand and the need to find new destinations.

By the end of June TAP had transported a total of 224,346 passengers between Portugal and Africa, 19.2 percent more than in the same period of last year and it is predicted that by the end of the year a total of 525,000 passengers transported to the African continent will be reached.
