From the start of June TAP passengers flying between Portugal and Brazil can now watch TV Globo International programming during flights. The two companies have set up a partnership that includes the series “1808 – The Court in Brazil”, a program distributed by TV Globo International to be shown between June and December.

Each month two new episodes will be shown on all flights operated by TAP to the cities of Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza, Brasilia, Salvador, Recife, Natal and Belo Horizonte.

“The aim of this partnership is to further strengthen ties between Brazil and Portugal both for us as a television channel and for TAP, the country's leading airline company", emphasizes Ricardo Scalamandre, International Business Division director at TV Globo.

The series marks the 200th anniversary of the arrival of the Portuguese Court in Brazil. The program covers the different aspects of this historical fact and recounts the profile of leading figures such as Dom Joao VI, Dona Maria I, Carlota Joaquina, Leopoldina and Dom Pedro I.
