Casablanca joins TAP network

Casablanca airport – Mohamed V - is one of the primary traffic distribution hubs to several countries in Western Africa and also enables passengers to make connections to other cities in Morocco such as Agadir, Marrakech and Fez.
Hence TAP is diversifying its offer of flights in Africa and now operates to nine destinations. In addition to Casablanca, TAP also serves the cities of Bissau, Dakar, Luanda, Maputo, Johannesburg, Sal, Praia and Sao Tome in a total of 41 flights a week.
Flights on this new route depart from Lisbon at 2:05pm and arrive in Casablanca at 3:35pm. In the reverse direction they leave Casablanca at 4:15pm and land in the Portuguese capital at 5:45pm.
By the end of August TAP had transported around 340 thousand passengers in total on its routes from Africa, reflecting an increase of the order of 20.5 percent compared with the same period of last year and it is predicted that by the end of 2008 we shall exceed 500 thousand passengers transported to the African continent.
