TAP commences twice-daily flights to Valencia

9th September 2009 Print
From 25 October, TAP will start operating twice-daily flights to Valencia, which will become the eighth Spanish destination to be served by the company. This brings the total number of daily flights connecting Portugal and Spain to 27.

There will be two flights per day in 19-passenger Beechcraft aeroplanes, leaving Lisbon at 8:00 am and 7:20 pm, arriving in Valencia at 11:35 am and 10:15 pm, respectively. The first return flight will leave Valencia at 7:00 am and arrive in Lisbon at 7:55 am, with the second flight departing at 12:15 pm and arriving in Lisbon at 1:10 pm.

In addition to Valencia, TAP serves a variety of Spanish cities with several flights per day, including: Madrid and Barcelona, departing from Lisbon and Oporto, with a joint daily average of 17 flights; Bilbao, Malaga and Seville, with two flights each, and La Coruña and Pamplona, each with one flight a day, to make a total of 27 daily flights between Portugal and Spain.

The launch of this new route to Valencia forms part of the measures implemented by TAP to meet the challenges created by the current economic and financial climate in the airline industry.

At the same time that it is adjusting its services in the main markets in which it operates, reducing capacity where required, the company is seeking to strengthen its presence in other markets.

This is only possible through tighter and more effective management of its equipment and resources, with more rational and efficient use of the fleet, in an effort to take maximum advantage of every existing business opportunity and launch operations to new destinations.

TAP is thus seeking to better meet customer expectations by offering quality services that are tailored to their needs across an increasingly diverse network of destinations.
