Frighteningly fabulous fun at PortAventura
From 26th September to 22nd November 2009, fear descends upon the popular family resort, PortAventura. An hours drive from Barcelona, and situated on Spain’s glorious Costa Dorada, PortAventura will be overrun with legions of the living dead this Halloween.
Sinister creatures and gruesome zombies will be on the hunt to scare the unsuspecting, and suspecting visitors who flock to the resort this year.
During Halloween terror takes over every nook and cranny of the resort, so why not start your fright fest by walking through the haunted passageway Horror en Penitence; or experience moments of genuine panic on terrifying rides such as and the infamous, and hair raising, Furious Baco. Alternatively you can try your luck surviving the outdoor ghost walk, La Selva del Miedo, during the dead of night.
Visitors can shudder at spine tingling shows such as La Hora Gore, Terror en el Lago and Vamp Frenzee, all of which are set to the rather macabre sounds of the Penitence Horror Band. While you’re being scared out of your wits, the youngsters can enjoy a spooky Halloween puppet show, La leyenda de Jack el Linterna. But the shocks don’t end there; don’t miss La Parada de los monstrous, a terrifying daily procession of monstrous characters including horror legends, Dracula, Frankenstein and the Addams Family.
The more courageous guest can check in to the spooky Hotel Burn which is situated within the new Gold River Hotel complex, and perfectly located next to a cemetery. Rumoured to be the most haunted part of PortAventura, Hotel Burn offers frights throughout the night. Guests can put in requests to have wake up calls from the resident ghosts who lurk in the corridors and under the floorboards; so if you are staying overnight, please check under your beds, in your wardrobes and ensure all windows are secure, as you never know when something may go bump in the night!
Halloween only comes once a year, so if you have nerves of steel and love a good scare, make sure you and your family visit PortAventura!
