Gold River Hotel opens at PortAventura

Yee-ha! Don your Stetson, spurs and waistcoat and head to Spain’s glorious Costa Dorada to experience a hotel like no other: PortAventura’s Gold River Hotel.

The new development, which cost €67million to create and spans over 10 hectares of land, is themed around the Wild West. Complete with saloon, funeral parlor, City Hall and gael, Gold River Hotel will make you feel as though you have stepped back in time.

Modeled on the original 1806 town of Sullivan, Gold River Hotel has a total of 502 rooms, offering huge diversity within one complex. City Hall, with 135 specially tailored rooms and 3 inviting swimming pools, is the main accommodation in Gold River. For a more luxurious stay, Lucy’s Mansion, situated at the top of ‘Main Street’, houses 31 rooms with a truly boutique feel as well as an exclusive swimming pool.

For the more adventurous, nestled in the existing woodland, there is the opportunity to immerse yourself at the very source of the Gold River by staying in the River Bungalows which are a complex of 24 small self catering chalets built totally of timber. There is also the option of living your Wild West fantasies and staying in the Sheriffs Office, home to 36 rooms.

In total Gold River Hotel is composed of 11 buildings, 502 rooms, 4 new pools, 4 restaurants, 3 bars, 1 shop, 1 mini market and 24 sheds. With the construction of the Gold River Hotel, PortAventura has invested, since its inauguration in 1955, a total of 800 million Euros which makes it one of the most important resorts in Europe.
