Monarch launches London – Murcia services

8th December 2006 Print
Monarch is increasing its network further with the announcement it is to launch a new route from London Gatwick to Murcia, a route vacated by British Airways in October 2005. Services will operate daily from 03 May 2007 and are on sale at flymonarch.com.

Tim Jeans, managing director of Monarch’s scheduled services said, “There has been huge customer demand for Monarch to launch a London to Murcia service and we are delighted to be able to respond to this. Since launching services to Murcia from Birmingham in April this year we have carried over 45,000 passengers to the Costa Calida and are confident that the addition of the route from Gatwick will be another huge success for Monarch and a popular year round destination for our customers in the south-east.”

Prices to Murcia start from as little as £41.99 one way (£68.99 return) including all taxes and charges. Fares include complimentary daily newspapers, a refreshing hot towel service and a 20kg luggage allowance; also available is a unique range of tasty hot and cold meals with prices from £3.00. Seats can be pre-booked at £5 per one-way flight to avoid the last minute free-for-all, or you might prefer to try one of the 48 extra-legroom seats which offer up to six inches of extra space for just £15 each way. Regular travellers are rewarded too, with a range of benefits through the airline’s loyalty scheme, Vantage Club.

Monarch currently operate scheduled services from London Gatwick to Alicante, Faro, Granada, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Lisbon, Malaga and Tenerife. The expansion brings Monarch’s scheduled network to 42 routes.
