6th August 2007 Print
Award winning low fares airline Monarch is giving Midlanders a helping hand in guaranteeing sunshine next year, with the launch of its Summer 2008 scheduled flights from Birmingham International Airport.

With Summer 2007 being the wettest on record, an increased number of people are booking last minute holidays to escape the rain and jet off to the beaches of Europe. By booking now for Summer 2008 however, Monarch will enable people to get a head start on their holiday plans for next year and take advantage of the airlines’ low, low fares.

Monarch’s Summer 2008 scheduled flights from Birmingham include:

- Alicante – 8 flights per week
- Almeria – 3 flights per week
- Faro – daily flights
- Ibiza – 5 flights per week
- Lanzarote – 1 flight per week
- Malaga – 2 flights per day
- Menorca – 4 flights per week
- Murcia – daily flights
- Palma – 8 flights per week
- Tenerife – 4 flights per week

Commenting on the launch of Summer 2008 flights, managing director of flyMonarch.com, Liz Savage said, “We are having a phenomenal season yet again in Birmingham, with over half a million Midlanders taking to the skies on Monarch’s scheduled flights this Summer. By launching our Summer 2008 programme so early, and before the rest of our UK bases, we are demonstrating our commitment to our loyal Birmingham customers and providing them with a great opportunity to grab a bargain for next summer.

“Everyone booking before the end of August 2007, will also be entered into a prize draw to win a new Ford Fiesta as we celebrate our first ‘Fiesta month’ at Monarch, so there’s never been a better time to book”.

Monarch operates scheduled flights to Alicante, Almeria, Faro, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Malaga, Menorca, Murcia, Palma and Tenerife from Birmingham and was named as Leisure Airline of the Year in recent Travel Industry Awards.

Fares on Monarch flights include complimentary daily newspapers, a refreshing hot towel service and there is no charge for checking in baggage – if within your 20kg allowance; also available is a unique range of tasty hot and cold meals with prices from £3.00.

Seats can be pre-booked at £5 per one-way flight to avoid the last minute free-for-all experienced on some other airlines, or for only £15, why not try one of our 48 extra-legroom seats which offer up to six inches of extra space? Regular travellers are rewarded too, with a range of benefits through the airline’s loyalty scheme, Vantage Club.

Passengers travelling on scheduled flights can also avoid the queues at the airport and take advantage of online check-in which is available between 24 and 4.5 hours prior to departure or from 36 hours if you are a Vantage Club member.
