Travelling to Spain with Monarch?

After a tentative launch in June 2007, the Spanish authorities are now (from 19th September 2007) fully implementing entry procedures, similar to those used in the US. All passengers travelling on flights to Spain are required to provide additional information prior to their flight.

All passengers are required to provide their full given names, surnames, nationality, date of birth and travel document number (passport or ID card number) when checking in for their flight. This process is entirely handled at the airport, requiring the check-in agent to swipe the passport through a computer.

Monarch have been successfully collecting and sending live APIS data for all passengers travelling on Monarch’s Spanish flights since June 2007, with no disruption being caused to passengers or an increased check-in queues.

Check-in as normal, all data is collected at the airport so there is no need to contact Monarch prior to travel.

Passengers booked on scheduled flights who wish to use online check-in will be able to provide their data at the 'fast bag-drop' desk or at the departure gate. Passengers travelling from Manchester Airport and wishing to check-in using the CUSS (Common User Self Service) check-in kiosks, will be prompted to swipe their own passports as part of the check-in process.
