Monarch voted Best Scheduled Airline

19th November 2007 Print
Low fares airline Monarch has added another award to its repertoire after being voted ‘Best Scheduled European Airline’ by the travel trade at this year’s British Travel Awards.

The ceremony that was held on Thursday 15 November at Battersea Evolution in London, saw the airline beat off stiff competition from flag carriers including British Airways, Lufthansa and Air France to scoop this highly acclaimed title.

Managing director of flyMonarch.com, Liz Savage, said “We are delighted to win this prestigious award, which reflects Monarch’s popularity among agents, the strength of our product in a competitive market and the high regard in which we are held within the industry.”

Monarch operates both charter and low cost scheduled services, with the scheduled services division operating flights to Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal and Cyprus from Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester airports and fares, including taxes, starting from just £27.99 one-way (£41.50 return). In addition to year-round low fares, the airline also offers a unique range of tasty hot and cold meals onboard with prices from £3.00.

Seats can be pre-booked at £5 per one-way flight to avoid the last minute free-for-all experienced on some other airlines, or from only £15, why not try one of the 48 extra-legroom seats which offer up to six inches of extra space? Regular travellers are rewarded too, with a range of benefits through the airline’s loyalty scheme, Vantage Club.

Passengers travelling on scheduled flights can also avoid the queues at the airport and take advantage of online check-in which is available between seven days and 4.5 hours prior to departure.
