Monarch gets set for busiest summer ever

24th July 2008 Print
Award-winning low fares airline Monarch is preparing to fly a record number of passengers as the schools break up for summer with 250,000 passengers booked to travel at the beginning of the school holidays*.

As depressed Brits look to escape the unpredictable British weather it’s hardly surprising that Malaga on the Costa del Sol is proving to be the most popular getaway from the UK, closely followed by Alicante on the Costa Blanca and Faro in the Algarve, where temperatures are set to be at least 10 degrees warmer than the UK and the sunshine guaranteed!

It’s not too late to grab a great deal to the sun with Monarch – just visit monarch.co.uk for up-to-the-minute details of the latest offers.

Monarch operates scheduled flights to Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal and Cyprus from Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester airports and was named as Leisure Airline of the Year in recent Travel Industry Awards for the second year in succession. In addition to year-round low fares, Monarch also offers a unique range of tasty hot and cold meals onboard with prices from £3.00.

Seats can be pre-booked at £6 per one-way flight to avoid the last minute free-for-all experienced on some other airlines, or from only £15, extra-legroom seats are available, which offer up to six inches of extra space. Regular travellers are rewarded too, with a range of benefits through the airline’s loyalty scheme, Vantage Club.

Passengers travelling on scheduled flights can also avoid the queues at the airport and take advantage of online check-in which is available between seven days and 4.5 hours prior to departure.
