Monarch adds 12,000 seats for Christmas period

Award winning low fares airline Monarch has added in excess of 12,000 seats to its scheduled flying programme this Christmas in response to phenomenal customer demand.

The flights, which will operate between Saturday 20 December 2008 and Sunday 04 January 2009, operate from all four of Monarch’s scheduled UK bases to some of Europe’s key winter hotspots throughout Spain, the Spanish Islands, Portugal and Cyprus.

Additional frequencies to be added include the following:

From Birmingham to Lanzarote Malaga and Tenerife
From London Gatwick to Lanzarote and Larnaca
From London Luton to Larnaca
From Manchester to Faro, Lanzarote, Malaga and Tenerife

Commenting on the additional capacity, managing director of Monarch’s scheduled division, Liz Savage said, “The additional flights are great news for Monarch customers looking to get away this Christmas. Early indicators show that our customers are considering the Christmas getaway as important as ever and are continuing to snap up Monarch’s low fares in their droves. With 64 additional flights being added into the flying programme offering in excess of 12,000 further seats, getting away for Christmas has never been easier”.

Monarch operates scheduled flights to Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal and Cyprus from Birmingham, London Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester airports, and will for the first time be operating scheduled flights this year on Christmas day.
