A positive audit for Air Astana

10th March 2009 Print
After a series of independent service delivery audits by the globally-recognised Airline Star Rating Programme, Skytrax Research, Air Astana has announced that it has achieved an overall rating of 3-Stars, with its short haul Business Class being rated as 4-Star.

The full Star Rating determination examines more than 800 different areas of product and service delivery for each airline, where the ratings range from 1 to 5-Stars. There are only six airlines in the world that have a 5-Star rating - Asiana, Cathay Pacific, Kingerfisher, Malaysian, Qatar and Singapore.

It is noted that most of the world’s best known airlines are rated either 3 or 4-Stars. Air Astana and Aeroflot are the only two airlines in Russia/CIS with a 3-Star rating. All other CIS carriers are rated as 1 or 2 Stars, or are unrated.

The management of Air Astana is very proud of this achievement, especially to all of the ground and cabin crew personnel, who received very good ratings.

“The front line staff of Air Astana has done a great job and we are proud to have so many professional and dedicated people in the team. To have come this far after less than 7 years and in an extremely challenging environment is a very good achievement. We will continue to work hard to improve in order to achieve a 4-Star rating at the next Skytrax audit in 2010, which will place us amongst the very best airlines in the world” said Peter Foster, President of Air Astana.
