Air Astana opens new flight to capital of Azerbaijan

Air Astana has commenced with regular flights between Almaty and the capital of Azerbaijan - Baku. The flights on the route Almaty-Baku-Almaty will be carried out on comfortable Airbus A-320 aircrafts with 16 business and 132 economy class seats flying twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.

The new direct service flight will further strengthen the cultural and economic relations between the countries by easing the transport and will also allow Azerbaijani and Kazakhstan citizens to visit their friends and relatives through comfortable and affordable flights. In addition the direct flights are also expected to develop tourism between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

With its strong network, Air Astana offers connections with its domestic destinations while it also offers international connectivity to Beijing, Bishkek and Delhi. As on other Air Astana’s, passengers can additionally benefit from the advantages of Nomad Club that offers travel priviliges and free travel to its frequent flyers

At the present time Air Astana serves 21 international and 22 domestic routes, its fleet consists of 21 modern aircraft. Airbus A-320’s are designed to fly at medium range distances and take a big part of Air Astana fleet due to their high level of comfort and technical characteristics. That’s why this type of aircraft has been chosen to carry out flights from Almaty to Baku.

The lowest one way tickets including airport and other charges from Baku will be equal to 237 Azerbaijani manats (30872 tenge) in economy and 385 manats (55872 tenge) in business class, and lowest return tickets - 466 manats (65094 tenge) and 749 manats (115479 tenge) respectively.

Tickets can be booked and purchased directly via the Internet at airastana.com and from Air Astana’s ticketing offices in Almaty, Astana and Atyrau. The duration of flight is 3 hours and 05 minutes.
